Is this certification available for publishers anywhere in the world?

At this time, Sertify is for our US-based publishers.

What is Uplift by Mediavine?

Uplift by Mediavine is one of the ways we're working to eliminate the inequitable ad spend experienced by diverse creators whose content is often a rich reflection of not only their culture but also that of the audiences advertisers want to reach.

Why is Uplift by Mediavine important?

Diverse creators deserve to be paid equitably for the value they're able to provide brands through access to their highly engaged audiences. Uplift by Mediavine allows advertisers to find and support these audiences while balancing their need for brand safety.

Which categories are eligible through the Sertify program?

Sertify offers certification for the following categories: AAPI-, Black-, Disabled-, Hispanic-, Indigenous-, LGBTQIA+-, Veteran-, and Women-owned.

Why should I get certified?

Some advertisers require third-party certification. Certification through Sertify allows us to include your site in our available inventory for advertisers who may have these requirements.

Do I have to get certified to participate in Uplift by Mediavine?

Sertify is optional. If you have opted in to self-identify through Uplift by Mediavine and you don't want to get certified, that's okay. You will still be eligible for the benefits of the marketplace for those advertisers who do not require third-party certification. This is just an additional certification for advertisers who may have additional requirements.

How do Uplift by Mediavine and Sertify deals work?

Uplift by Mediavine is an inclusion marketplace, not an exclusion marketplace. Within the Uplift marketplace, we have deals and advertisers that spend on self-identified sites. Then we have another set of deals and advertisers who want to reach certified sites. Our goal is that the certified sites will earn higher CPMs because they've gone through the process of verifying that they're diversely owned, but we do not and cannot guarantee higher earnings as a result of participating.

Will spend be diverted from my site?

When we package sites for advertisers, we choose sites that align with the demographics they’re trying to reach. Uplift by Mediavine does not divert advertising away from some sites in favor of others; it simply gives us another way to meet the needs of our advertiser partners.

Why did Mediavine partner with Sertify?

Seeking certification can be an obstacle. It’s often costly and time-consuming. We partnered with Sertify to offer this to our Uplift publishers at no cost, reducing the hurdles and allowing them to benefit from this advanced level of verification.

Are there any cons to being certified Uplift such as discrimination?

Uplift is an inclusion marketplace, not an exclusion marketplace. We don't allow buyers to target against these classification categories. Additionally, we take data privacy very seriously. The information shared with us via Uplift or Sertify is only used for curated deals and sites are not targeted individually.

After certification is it required to display any of the Serify badges?

No, displaying the badges provided to you after certification is completely optional.
