Mediavine issues all payments via our partner Tipalti, which allows publishers to select their preferred method of payment. If you are new to Mediavine, please follow these instructions for setting up a Payment Profile.

What is Tipalti?

Tipalti is a global partner payment automation system that provides accounts payable, procurement and global payments automation software for businesses. They are a Licensed Money Transmitter in 196 countries, via 120 different currencies. Tipalti is licensed by the Office of Foreign Assets Control, a financial intelligence and enforcement agency of the U.S. Treasury Department.
(Translation: Tipalti is safe and secure with your information.)

Tipalti is the intermediary that allows us to offer publishers multiple options for payments, as well as the ability to be paid in your local currency.

What payment methods are available?

You can choose from any of the following payment methods, and you can change or update your payment method at any time from the Payments tab in your Mediavine Dashboard.

  • PayPal

  • Domestic ACH

  • International ACH

  • U.S. wire transfer

  • International wire transfer

See this document for help choosing a payment method. Please note that some of these payment methods will incur additional fees.

When will I get paid?

Mediavine pays on Net65 Terms. Technically, our payment date is the 5th of each month, but we always issue payments on the first business day of the month. How quickly you receive payments can depend on your chosen payment method as well as your banking institution, with ACH-Domestic typically being the fastest.
You can find all the details as well as a handy graphic detailing when to expect your monthly payments here.

Can I change payment methods?

You may change payment methods at any time. If you are setting up your Payment Profile for the first time, you can find those instructions here.

It's after the first business day of the month and I am still waiting on my payment!

The most common cause for this is that your payment profile is incomplete.

Double check all of your details by logging into your Mediavine Dashboard and selecting the Payments tab. Click Payment Profile and then review all of the information. To see complete account numbers or information select 'Edit'.

Note: The Address screen requires your correct PHYSICAL address. This is because the Tax Forms screen will either prompt you to complete a W9 (for US citizens) or will ask you to select non-US citizen. The information entered in the Address screen must match the details in the Tax Form screen or your payment profile will not save, which will move you to 'not payable' status until corrected.

You can find additional next steps for tracking your payment here.

Will I receive a 1099?

Mediavine will issue a 1099-MISC for non-PayPal earnings paid out to publishers in the United States.

These forms will be available via email in late January and will come from a service called Tax1099.

What if I have more than one site with Mediavine?

If you have more than one site with Mediavine, you can set up a different Payment Profile for each site, or have them paid together through the same Payment Profile.
If you select to have multiple sites paid via one lump sum (recommended), your monthly invoice will itemize the revenue from each site.

For help, please see this guide to setting up payment profiles for your site.

What if I still need help?

There is no need to email Tipalti! You can reach a Mediavine Support Specialist to assist with any questions by emailing payments@mediavine.com.

Questions about payments are answered Monday-Friday, 9a-4p EST.
