Some controls have been deemed unnecessary and will be removed as part of this effort. #### **Removal of Inview and Skylight Ads** In line with these optimizations, we have decided to sunset the functionality of Inview and Skylight ads. Consequently, the settings that enabled these features in your ad experience will also be removed. #### **Changes to Dashboard Settings** As we sunset Inview and Skylight ads, we will remove the option to separately optimize ads for Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS) from the dashboard. From now on, Mediavine will optimize ads for CLS by default for all sites. This adjustment simplifies the ad management experience while ensuring our focus remains on viewability and ad density. #### **Why We Made This Change** Mediavine originally developed Inview and Skylight ads to enhance viewability; however, we have observed that the gains in viewability achieved with these ad types have been offset by an increase in ad density. Both Google and Demand Side Platforms (DSPs) have placed greater importance on ad density in their decision-making processes, leading us to test and evaluate our ad experience consistently. Our collaboration with Google's search team and leading DSPs has confirmed that prioritizing ad density aligns better with industry standards and expectations. #### **Enhancements to User Experience** We will introduce an improved CLS ad box as part of these updates. This new design will be more subtle and significantly smaller, contributing to a better on-site user experience without compromising the volume of advertisements served. #### **Continuity of Existing Ad Types** It's important to note that Inview and Skylight ads were never standalone ad types. Therefore, your existing in-content, recipe, feed, and top sidebar ads will continue to function and generate revenue. #### **Commitment to Ongoing Optimization** Mediavine is dedicated to optimizing your ad experience for viewability and density.
