Tax Time! Whatever your payment method of choice, Mediavine has the US-based documentation you need. Each publisher is responsible for their own tax reporting.

Note: If you did not fill out a W9 and instead entered “Non-US” as your tax designation in your payment profile, you’ll need to navigate the specific income reporting and tax forms for your country.

Publishers who received payment via a method other than PayPal will receive a form 1099 from Mediavine.

Even if it was just for one month of Tax Year 2022, if you received any payments from Mediavine in a method OTHER THAN PayPal, you will receive a form 1099. If you received payment via PayPal as well as another payment method, you will receive a 1099 from Mediavine as well as a 1099-K from PayPal.

You can expect to see 1099 forms arrive via email by January 31 from a service called Tax1099.

The email looks like this:

This email provides specific instructions on how to open and print the 1099 that contains your earnings details.

If you have any issues with this email, or with accessing the form it provides, please reach out to payments@mediavine.com.

Note: If you edited your W9 info midyear, you will receive two 1099s. For example, if during 2022 you switched to an EIN, one 1099 will be issued for the amount paid via your SSN and one for the amount paid via your EIN.

Publishers who received payment via PayPal only will not be issued a form 1099 from Mediavine.

You can find more details about PayPal and the required tax documents here

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can email our support team at payments@mediavine.com.

This is not tax advice and you should consult with your accountant or tax preparer for specifics on how to file your earnings.
