Tax Time! Whatever your payment method of choice, Mediavine has the US-based documentation you need. Each publisher is responsible for their own tax reporting.

Note: If you did not fill out a W9 and instead entered “Non-US” as your tax designation in your payment profile, you’ll need to navigate the specific income reporting and tax forms for your country.

Publishers who received payment via a method other than PayPal will receive a form 1099-Misc from Mediavine.

Even if it was just for one month of Tax Year 2019, if you received any payments from Mediavine in a method OTHER THAN PayPal, you will receive a form 1099-MISC. If you received payment via PayPal as well as another payment method, you will receive a 1099-Misc and you will also need to follow the instructions below for reporting your PayPal payments.

The 1099-MISC will arrive the week of 01/27/2020 via email from a service called Tax1099.

The email looks like this:

This email contains specific instructions on how to open and print the 1099-MISC that contains all of your earnings details.

If you have any issues with this email, or with accessing the form it provides, please reach out to payments@mediavine.com.

Note: If you edited your W9 info midyear, you will receive two 1099s. For example, if during 2019 you switched to an EIN, one 1099 will be issued for the amount paid via your SSN and one for the amount paid via your EIN.

Publishers who received payment via PayPal only will not be issued a form 1099-Misc from Mediavine.

You can find more details about PayPal and the required tax documents here

Instructions to pull the needed report for your 2019 taxes are as follows:

To get the income you need to report, simply log into your Mediavine dashboard and navigate to Payments > Payment History:

This will generate a list of all your Mediavine payments. Adjust the items per page at the bottom of the screen if needed to display payments from January 2019 - December 2019.

Print this page, and provide it to your accountant, or include it with your tax documents.

It will suffice as proof of your income from Mediavine, Inc. for the year, in the same way a 1099 form would.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can email our support team at payments@mediavine.com.

This is not tax advice and you should consult with your accountant or tax preparer for specifics on how to file your earnings.
