This allows for use of social video content (e.g., Reels, TikToks). We’re making it easier than ever to fuel [**Universal Player Plus (UVP+)**](https://help.mediavine.com/universal-player-plus-details-and-faqs-?hsLang=en) and unlock higher earnings with zero extra production time by using the videos you have from social media content.  To start, upload your vertical videos to your Mediavine dashboard. We've removed two manual settings to make vertical video truly plug-and-play. **What this means for you:** Simply upload your vertical videos, and everything renders dynamically with no extra configuration required. ### When Ad and Content Aspect Ratios Differ The sticky player maintains the aspect ratio of your video content, not the ad: - On mobile with vertical content: The player stays 1:1 (square) - On desktop with vertical content: The player stays 9:16 - Ads that don't match the content aspect ratio are automatically boxed within the player   ### Previously Uploaded Vertical Videos **If you uploaded vertical videos at a different aspect ratio** (like 16:9) to prevent them from displaying too large, those videos will need to be re-uploaded to benefit from the new vertical video support. - Videos uploaded at 16:9 will continue to display at 16:9 despite these updates - We cannot change the aspect ratio of a video file after upload - Re-upload these videos at their native 9:16 aspect ratio to take advantage of the improved display ### Frequently Asked Questions **Q: Do I need to change any settings for my vertical videos to display correctly?** A: No. Simply upload your vertical videos at their native 9x16 aspect ratio, and they'll automatically display optimally across all devices. **Q: Why doesn't my older vertical video look right?** A: Any vertical video upload before this update will need to be re-uploaded at its native 9x16 aspect ratio to benefit from the improved display. **Q: What happens if an ad doesn't match my video's aspect ratio?** A: The player maintains your video content's aspect ratio. Ads that don't match are automatically boxed within the player to fit. **Q: Will the player size keep changing if I have videos with different aspect ratios?** A: The player dynamically adjusts based on each video's content, optimizing the viewing experience while minimizing distracting size changes. The player size is determined by your video content, not by ads. **Q: What aspect ratio should I upload my vertical social media content at?** A: Upload your Instagram Reels, TikToks, and other vertical content at their native 9x16 aspect ratio.
