Everything you need to know about payments with our previous payment provider, PayPal.

NOTE: From April 15, 2016 to July 31, 2018, Mediavine made all payments through PayPal Mass Payments. We decided to leave this document live in case you had questions about our previous payment provider. 

As of Aug. 1 2018, Mediavine payments are powered by Tipalti, which includes PayPal as one of its payment methods. Publishers have the choice of several payment methods. Learn more about CURRENT Mediavine payments.

Did PayPal charge me a fee?

No! When Medavine used PayPal exclusively for payments, we were signed up for a special account known as "PayPal Mass Payments." 

When we issued you a payment, we paid the fee via Mass Payments and you never paid a penny for receiving your funds. PayPal may charge you a fee for withdrawing your funds depending on method and location.

How do I change my PayPal email address?

Please review this guide to setting up your Tipalti payment profile in your Mediavine dashboard. You have the option to use PayPal OR a number of other payment methods. 

How do I check payment history?

For payments dated Aug. 1, 2018 or later: Please log into your Mediavine dashboard. Click on Payments on the left-hand menu and click on the relevant payment profile. Then click View Payment History.


For payments made prior to July 31, 2018: Please log into PayPal to check your payment history. See this document for help finding that data in PayPal. 

For payments prior to April 2016: Please see this document that details finding payment information from Gusto. 

What if I don't have a PayPal account?

No problem, we have several other payment options for you. If you'd like to use PayPal for Mediavine payments after Aug. 1, 2018, please visit paypal.com and create one. It's fast, easy and free.

Do I need to create a separate PayPal account for my business?

If you have a separate Tax ID for your business, we would recommend setting up a separate PayPal account for your business.

Will I get a 1099?

When do I get paid?

You will continue to be paid NET 65 and PayPal payments will be sent on the 5th of each month. Please check out this payment chart for reference.

Can I still receive payments via ACH if I'm a US Resident?

Yes. In August 2018, we switched to Tipalti for our payment system. Publishers now have the option of receiving payments via ACH, PayPal and myriad other options. Review the list here. 

Why did I receive multiple payments?

If you made more than $10,000 in one payment period we were required to split up your payment due to max size of PayPal payments ($10k). They should total up to the same as the amount listed in your dashboard. 

Additionally, if you run more than one site with Mediavine, payments are done on a per-site basis unless you group payments into the same Payment Profile. (Prior to Aug. 2018, PayPal payments were made separately for each site.)
