Why is Mediavine changing the CMP?

We’re rolling out a new CMP to improve site performance, boost your earnings, and enhance privacy compliance. We’re offering the ability to utilize one consent platform via our partner, who specializes in compliance and privacy, without the need for multiple tools.

What’s changing with the new CMP?

You now have the option to manage consent through a single, dedicated platform, ConsentManager. 

What’s not changing with the new CMP? 

You’ll still receive the same great benefits you’re used to:

  • Fast load times and a great reader experience
  • A smoother, more modern interface
  • Improved reporting and debugging tools
  • Support for foreign language capabilities
  • Built-in support for future privacy laws

When will my site be migrated?

We’re rolling out the migration in phases starting in June 2025. 

Do I need to do anything to prepare?

  • No, we’ll handle the migration on your behalf. 
  • If you’ve customized your consent settings or added custom scripts, we may reach out directly to ensure a seamless transition.

Can I choose when to migrate?

Not at this time. We’re migrating sites in phases to ensure stability and support. 

What happens if I do nothing?

Your site will be automatically migrated. We’ll handle the technical migration and let you know when it’s complete.

Will Mediavine continue to manage the CMP settings related to programmatic advertising on my website?

Yes, the settings related to consent for the programmatic advertising on your website will be managed by Mediavine, even if you upgrade to a paid tier.   

Where can I see what’s new or get help?

What will my readers see when they visit my site?

Depending on their location and applicable privacy laws, readers may see a cookie consent pop-up where they can manage preferences or be offered a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” option. 

What if I’m already using ConsentManager as my CMP?

If you’ve already upgraded directly with Consent Manager, please reach out to support at publishers@mediavine.com for further guidance.
