Using Page-Level Data to improve your performance

Learn how to make the most for your business with page-level reporting.

The Mediavine Dashboard offers information and metrics that can help you make the best decisions for your business, and Page-Level Data is the best place for you to look for actionable items.

Start by selecting Top Pages from the Analytics view in the dashboard.
New Dashboard Analytics View

The top pages displayed here are dependent on the date range you set. You can adjust that date range from the top of the Analytics page or the Top Pages page. Additionally, you can also add comparison dates. We provide data on your top 100 pages. This provides a quick view of the highest traffic pages on your site.

You can also sort the information by selecting the column heading you would like to sort by, and by utilizing the star icon on the left side of the URL.

Top Pages offers a breakdown of:

  • Revenue
  • Pageviews

You can sort this data! Just click the little arrows next to each column heading. Clicking once will sort highest to lowest, and clicking twice will sort lowest to highest.

‼️ Important Note: We do not recommend sorting RPM highest to lowest. Since RPM is calculated after earnings are confirmed, pages with small amounts of traffic may give an inaccurate calculation of RPM.

Example of how RPMs may look inflated due to traffic patterns:

A Few Easy Ways to Use Page-Level Data

  1. In the default view - Pageviews, highest to lowest - Focus on where your readers are visiting most. Impressions/Page and CPM  can help identify any outliers that are serving a lower number of impressions. From there, view those lower-performing posts, on desktop and mobile, to determine what might be keeping them from serving more impressions.

    Viewability

  2. Sort by CPM, highest to lowest, to determine which posts advertisers are most invested in. Tip: Posts that have high CPM and high traffic are the most valuable.

If possible, identify high-value keywords and use keyword research to plan related content that can link back to those high-value posts. Backlinks can lift those posts in search.

  3. To determine upcoming top posts, view data for the last 3 days. Ensuring posts are optimized as they climb in your top pages will make the most of your traffic.

  4. Creating a plan for the future? Set the date range in the dashboard to look at an upcoming season or holiday last year and peek at the Top Pages. Consider sorting by Impressions per Page, lowest to highest, and see which posts need attention before they start to trend.
