In order to reach Teal status for the Privacy Policy, you must meet the following criteria:
The Privacy Policy must be linked in your Mediavine Dashboard Settings.
Settings > Privacy
There must be a link to the Privacy Policy on your homepage.
The Privacy Policy must contain the HTML code on this page.
Note: Prior to October 2020, we recommended copy/pasting a large block of text into your privacy policy. We've since simplified that process to keep the language updated more easily. If have not updated your Privacy Policy with the shorter version of the language, we recommend you do so ASAP.
If you are Teal already, great job, and thank you! If we have another update to the policy which requires action from you, we'll reach out or it'll be noted in a change in your Health Check.
That means you are missing a link to your Privacy Policy on your homepage. Please add this to either your menu bar or your footer, and make sure it is the exact same permalink that you've placed into your Mediavine Dashboard Settings > Privacy.
A yellow light means that you are missing the required text in your Privacy Policy, and also missing the link on your homepage. Please update your Privacy Policy with the text from this page, and add a link to the Privacy Policy to your site's menu bar or footer.
If you have a red light it means your site does not have a link to your Privacy Policy in your Dashboard Settings > Privacy page. Without a link there, we cannot check whether or not you have the required text or whether the link is on your homepage.
If you have a red light please do the following:
If you do NOT have a Privacy Policy published on your site, get one. If you have a Privacy Policy already, proceed to step 2.
Place the link to the Privacy Policy in your Mediavine Dashboard Settings > Privacy page. There are instructions here if you need help. If you already have a link in that field, please check it to ensure it is an active, correct link.
Check your Privacy Policy to ensure you have included the HTML code we provide here. (Always consult a lawyer for questions about what else should be in your Privacy Policy. The Mediavine text is ONLY related to your Mediavine ads.)
Check your homepage to make sure there is a link to your Privacy Policy in your menu bar or footer. If there is not, please add it to one of these locations.
